Factory Farms Presentation

One very interesting point Nick made during his presentation on factory farms was that factory farming started in the 1940s as a response to the increased demands for food in other countries. It eventually carried over to the United States where it is now the domineering method of farming. With an ever-growing population, it seems the need for factory farms will always be present, although increased care for the animals involved seems necessary. It raises an interesting question on how to best satisfy the hunger a nation has for animal products. Should the energy be put into advocating vegetarianism or veganism, or rather find better ways to treat animals that are involved with factory farming? I believe it will play out interestingly over the next few years.
