Man On Wire

- During the time of Nixon crisis, a young French man, Philippe Petit, or a “Man on Wire” walked from tower to tower of World Trade Center on August 7th, 1974.
- His dream started back in the day when he went for doctor appointment. While he was waiting for his turn, he saw the project of building WTO in one of the magazine.
- Wanted to have a picture of the project, Philippe torn the page and ran back home.
- Philippe said, he has a dream of walking between the two towers, and he could do everything to achieve his dream.
- In the past, Philippe worked in one of the circus in France, and that rise his ambition of achieving impossible things such as walk on the thin wire.
- With the helps of his friends, he succeeded his dream to walk between towers in the Notre Dame Cathedral Church in Paris, and walked across Harbor Bridge in Sydney.
- To make his dream become successful, he asked for helps from his friends, and tried to make contact with other people such as Barry Green ( The Inside Man), who walked in the WTC.
- He and his girlfriend went back and forth to look at the building, take pictures, etc…
- His girlfriend said that if they die, it is beautiful to die in such a place like WTC.
- Philippe and his friends set up a WTC organization to plan and practice in Philippe’s place outside of Paris.
- In the day of the action, Philippe walked on the wire between the two towers for 40 minutes. He challenged the police who went to catch him by walked back and forth near the police.
- He was arrest, and sent for medical check to make sure that he was mentally fine.
- Philippe was released soon after that, and deported back to France.
