Thesis: Movie production has taken a significant step forward since the pre 90's period, but the same can not be said for content and quality, and no other movies show more signs of this than the horror genre, especially horror movie remakes. The mass consumer culture are more into special effects and cheap thrills in which these watered- down movies offer them.
