The definition between “human animals” and “non-human animals” in my opinion comes down to the ability to reason. Humans and animals are the same in almost every other way. Both humans and animals rely on our instincts to survive, we both have the capacity for love and relationships, and at our core both of our end goals in life are to carry on our genetic lineage. The key difference must be in a human’s ability to use logic and reason. Arts and sciences could never exist in an animal world. Humans have developed to the point where we are not constantly focused on survival and this is a result of our ability to reason.
