Human/Non-Human Animals

Reason is what distinguishes non-human animals from human animals. Although human animals and non-human animals share basic instincts such as the ability to think, feel, store memory, and have interests, these instincts do no imply that these classes of animals are equal. Non-human animals rely on their primitive instincts to survive while human animals control their instincts. Human animals have traditions, social ethics, and advanced emotions that distinguish them from non-human animals. All of these characteristics of human animals stem from their greater ability to reason.
