Factory Farm Presentation

One thing I found interesting from Nick Cooney's presentation was the enormous environmental impact that animal agriculture has. I knew how this institution affected animals, but not how the animals affected the world we live in. He said that the biggest problem is the astronomical amount of waste that is produced by those animals each year. In fact, farm animals produce 170 times more waste than humans do in a year. This waste can leak into ground water or be absorbed into the atmosphere to create unsanitary living conditions for human life. Nick Cooney's argument allowed me to take a different approach to the animal agriculture dilemma. We are not just hurting animal life when contributing to animal agriculture, but we are putting human life in danger too. It gave me a sound reason as to why factory farms should be handled right away.
